Leader of Information Products OEM: TECO stepped into the Information Technology Business
On the insistence of Mr. Kay Lin Bo-Shih, the former chairman
of TECO in 1974, and despite of the fact that only very
few had any knowledge about IC, TECO invested in UMC and
became the largest private shareholder of UMC.
Also, in the same year, the 14-inch monitor of TECO gained
the appreciation of IBM, which unveiled the OEM information
by way of commissioning TECO to manufacture products according
to the blue prints designed by IBM. |
